About the Role
The role of the Paralegal is to be the central point of contact and referral for all aspects of legal matters across the business. The Paralegal will oversee and manage all aspects of legal matters and provide advice or liaise with external solicitors for where required.

Legal Responsibilities
- Legal Projects
- Drafting legal document
- Centrally manage external law firm relationships and communication
- Deal with incoming legal enquiries either from external law firms or redirecting enquiries to the appropriate person
- Manage complaints to the General Medical Council and liaise with external law firm on investigations
- Attend court trials, support and assist the assigned solicitor/barrister
- Co-coordinating the management of small claims and County Court Judgements working with TCF to identify whether it is necessary to defend to pay the claims. Seek advice from external law firm where necessary
- Manage and administering the contracts for tifgroup
- Managing and administration of TOBAs with partners/brokers
- Managing and administering the contacts in place with suppliers (standard and bespoke)
- Refer to preferred suppliers for legal advice where required
- Identify potential areas of legal vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues
- Administer and coordinate legal activities across the business
- Create, maintain and keep up to date the legal procedures manual
- Provide reports as requested to keep the tifgroup directors up to date with the operation and progress of legal efforts
- Assist with monitoring the performance of Legal Programme related activities on a continuing basis, discussing with manager appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
- To refer to a manager when any work falls outside their area of knowledge or expertise
Personal Qualities
- Proven experience of legal within an FCA regulated environment
- Experience should include understanding of legal and regulatory framework
- Sound knowledge of Law and the Legal System
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable handling a large workload under time constraints
- Strong organisational skills
- High level of discretion with confidential matters
- Detail orientated
- Work well as part of a team
- Ability to build strong relationships

Essential
- Proven experience in a legal role of at least 3 years
- Legal degree
